Thanks for all the comments! Mum, thats a really good point and i’ll do my best: I believe you stayed at home when we were pre-school age, I don’t remember the part-time bit, but I know you worked full-time when we were at infant or junior school onwards, I think.
I don’t remember being pre-school age so honestly don’t remember if you were home or not! I remember going to the child-minders was a ball ache because i didn’t do mornings very well, but I also know now that our family would’ve been completely different in terms of what we had if you hadn’t have worked. What I mean is this. I may have liked it better if you were around more when I was small, but we do things in the hope that our kids will grow up and realise why we did things and appreciate and understand us for that. I also know that for you as a working mother, I think Ben and I turned out pretty good, and am proud of you and the decisions you had to make and would never judge. only praise you for them. x

Hmm I am Your Mum! I was, at different times, a stay at home mum, a part- time working Mum and full-time working Mum. It would be very interesting to see if you could identify which bits occurred at which parts of your life – also which sort of Mum did you prefer ? The childs’( now womans’)of view would obviously be a relavent factor!

Great post. I’m pretty proud of myself for juggling my life the way I have to. It’s all a matter of choice really. You choose to have kids and then you live with the consequences of what that means for your individual situation. I know I couldn’t be a stay at home mum, but that doesn’t mean I’m not a little envious of those who are and I would guess there are some SAHMs who are a little envious of me for working. Loving having you back writing your blog. I am team stay at home, but I do understand it is not always possible and there is enough guilt associated with being a parent. xx
