Random ramblings from my kids

After bath time tonight I went into the kids room for a chat.

me:  Iden?

Iden:  Yes

Me:  What do you think about girls?

Iden:  BOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRINNNNNNNNGGGGG!…Well I like you two though.

Me :  Ahh, that’s nice.  you like me and Isla do you?

Iden, Um, yes, but all the other ones are boring!

Me;  Why do you think they’re boring?

Iden:  Cos they play boring games.

Me:  Like what?

Iden:  Bratz, barbie…..um… pets.

Me:  pets? D’you not like playing pets?

Iden  Err no.

Me:  So do you now think you’ll ever have a girlfriend then?

Iden:  When I’m older I will

Me:  What if you think they’re boring when you’re older?

Iden:  Then I just won’t have ‘em, 

Me:  Fair enough.  What about you Isla, are you gonna have a boyfriend?

Isla  (nods head)

Me;  Have you got one now?

Isla (shakes head.  Just to point out Isla can see the dictaphone and knows she’s being recorded so is reluctant to speak)

Me;  So Iden don’t you like any girls?

Iden:  Yes 1

Me;  Who?

Iden: You

Me;  Ok well apart from me, what about in your class?

Iden:  No

Isla:  He likes Charlotte

(Iden turns bright red and looks annoyed)

Iden: (Shouting) I do not!  Stoooooooooooooooooooppp!

Isla:  You said she was pretty so…

(Iden starts to cry )

Me; Ah don’t wind him up Isla, he can think she’s pretty.

Isla:  Let’s talk about our favourite things

Me;  Go on then

Isla;  You have to say it.

Me;  Ok, what are your favourite things?

Isla: Favourite pacifically what?

Me; Pacifically?

Iden: Like toys and stuff like that

Isla:  Favourite sport, favourite colour, what?

Me:  Well you tell me

Isla:  My favourite colour, my favourite girl colour is purple, my favourite boy colour is 

Iden:  Blue!

Isla:  Green, errm, errm, my favourite sport is football, and my favourite thing to do is cheer-leading.

Iden:  Right err, my favourite sport is err baseball.

Isla:  Baseball? You don’t even know how to play baseball.

Iden:  I do

Isla:  Don’t 

Iden: I do, um, there’s lots of fielders…

Isla:  Ok ok you don’t need to explain it!

Iden, ok um my favourite sports is football, my favourite colour – girl colour is pink

(Isla sniggers)

Iden:  and my favourite boy colour is silver

(Isla laughs)

Iden:  and my favourite thing to do is work.

Me:  Oh what kind of work?

Iden:  Well maths, and um solving problems.

Me:  Ah nice.  D’you think you’ll ever get married?

Iden:  Err maybe.

Me:  What would be your ideal woman?

Iden:  what do you mean?

Me;  Well what kind of woman would you like to have as a wife, what would she be like?

Iden:  Errrr….Fat…(Isla laughs)…Ugly and bulging eyes…..and…she has a tounge where her eyes is….and she has glasses on her mouth, she has a nose where her ears are….Err she has hair on her bum… (Both in hysterics)

Me:  Why on earth would you want a wife like that?

Iden:  No really?  Err pretty, a bit lazy, 

Me a bit lazy?

Iden:  yep er, a bit of a show-off, and definitely a bit um kind-full.

Me;  Why would you want a wife that’s a bit lazy?

Iden:  Um, that’s a good question, but I don’t know…cos I like doing work so she wouldn’t have too.

Me;  Ah, that’s nice Iden.

Isla:  my favourite word is Mississippi.

Iden:  My favourite word is John.
