Running on empty

fire and rain

It’s been an up and down week: Moss left for the states this morning, time to re adjust to “single mother” mode till november.  It’ll take me a while to get back into it but I’ll be ok.  The kids seem ok with it for now but that’s because it’s been 12 hours and they have no concept of time.

On a lighter note friday was good, the Brookdale held a premiere night for the 3 short films they made – one of which I wrote.  It was a fun evening, they got a red carpet and had fake champagne and canopies  for the kids.  All the girls were dolled up to the eye-balls and the boys in suits, I felt slightly silly in my work trousers and cardigan but I thought I looked some what like a sophisticated writer with my black glasses and  plenty of eye-liner.  Gino made a great job of the films and they looked wonderful on the white-board big screen.

Last night we went to see the blue man group at the M.E.N.  Moss worked on the show so got us tickets which was great as I don’t think I could afford £35 a ticket for 5 of us!  Don’t get me wrong the show was great, really good atmosphere and very audience interactive, Iden had enough after about 30 mins then livened up at the end but Isla was totally into the whole thing.

A far as the writing goes we did our 15 minute radio pieces, paid a fortune to get them recorded and now can only wait to see if the BBC has any interest in them whatsoever.  I’m determined to get mine on the radio before Ben which isn’t going to happen as his has actually been commissioned – mine has yet to arrive on anyones desk, but here’s hoping!

Well for a first blog I hope this was acceptable (do I write yours sincerely here?)

He’s away until November! I don’t think I could cope with that!
